Teradrive examiners hold the certifications most often relied on by Canadian courts. Continuing education is a standing requirement, not an aspiration.
Our team holds the credentials Canadian counsel and triers of fact recognize. Certifications cover computer forensics (EnCE, AccessData FTK), mobile forensics (Cellebrite CCO, CCPA, MCFE), data recovery (AceLab PC-3000), incident response (BTL1), and security and privacy (CISSP, CIPP/C). Forensic tools evolve constantly. Our team maintains continuing-education obligations through vendor recertification cycles and annual training, with updates as significant new capability ships.
How certifications translate into court readiness.
A certification on its own does not make an examiner useful in court. What matters is whether the certification is the one Canadian judges have seen relied on in prior expert-witness rulings, whether it is current, and whether the examiner can explain — under cross-examination — the specific procedures the certification covers. The credentials listed above meet those tests: they are the certifications OpenText, Magnet Forensics, Cellebrite, Vound, AceLab, and AccessData recognise as active practitioner qualifications, and they are the ones most frequently referenced in Canadian rulings on expert admissibility.
Continuing education is treated as billable, mandatory time rather than spare-hours reading. Every examiner attends vendor-led training on their primary suite each year, participates in peer review with other Canadian forensic practitioners, and reviews internal laboratory procedures against the most recent Canadian case law. If a court asks how our examiner stays current, the answer is documented in writing.
