Cellebrite UFED

Cellebrite UFED (Universal Forensic Extraction Device) is a hardware and software platform for forensic acquisition of mobile devices, used by law enforcement, government, and private forensic firms across the world.

Cellebrite UFED is the most widely deployed mobile forensic acquisition tool. The platform supports thousands of device models across iOS, Android, and legacy operating systems, with regular updates as device manufacturers release new versions.

UFED supports several extraction methods. Logical extraction copies data accessible through the device's standard APIs. File system extraction reaches deeper into the device's user partition. Physical extraction (where supported) acquires a bit-for-bit image of the device's memory.

For modern locked iOS devices, Cellebrite Premium adds advanced acquisition workflows including BFU and AFU extractions on supported chipsets. For acquisitions UFED cannot complete, advanced techniques (chip-off, JTAG, ISP) are the next step.

We use UFED Touch and UFED 4PC daily, plus Cellebrite Inseyets for analysis. Cellebrite is one of several mobile forensic platforms in our toolset; Magnet AXIOM, Oxygen Forensic Detective, and Elcomsoft are others.
